Rhegan
says, "My principle focus is correct and classical dressage training
of horse and rider. I have trained for the past 10 years with
Conrad Schumacher and Emile
Faurie so my theories are based firmly in the German School of classical
dressage. About Rhegan. I want to help my
students understand how to train their horses by building confidence
between horse and rider. I do this by combining practical theory with
effective working routines at home and at the show ground.
Many riders find themselves confused and demoralized trying to understand why their horses struggle with certain elements of dressage work.
“He won’t move forward off my leg” or “She won’t soften when I ask for lateral work” are examples of the common complaints I hear from many riders. These small problems can evolve into difficult, resistant behaviour such as napping or resisting consistent contact so it is important to sort them out properly.
If you ride on your own and lack regular instruction it can be difficult to understand the behavioural or physical challenges your horse may be experiencing. My role is to help you rebuild the communication channels between you and your horse and give you new tools to help improve your horse’s understanding of your aids, attitude to work and general way of going.
I welcome all levels of rider, including those re-starting their riding after an absence, regular affiliated competitors or Eventers wanting to polish up their dressage tests.
"I run regular clinics in Gloucestershire,
Somerset, Oxfordshire and Kent, and occasionally outside the UK.
If you have a group of 6 riders in your area who would like to have
lessons with me, and a venue where I can teach, please feel free to
contact me."
