Aderro Dressage Centre

Intensive Training at Aderro

The Centre has excellent facilities, many of which can be seen in our Photo Gallery

Often the best results from a training regime come after 2 days, which is why we offer 3 – 5 day intensive training packages. This allows you, the rider, to focus entirely on what your horse and you need to do to get things MOVING FORWARD!

You can join us for a Rusty Rider program Tuesday to Thursday or Saturday which includes daily lessons or twice daily lessons possibly in combination with a schoolmaster lesson.

Our scheduled Intensive Training courses are 3 days and start on a Thursday at lunch finishing at lunch on Saturday. Click here for forthcoming Intensive Training Course dates.

 Rusty Riders Rehab:

For those who have recently entered (or re-entered) the confusing, but fascinating, world of dressage in a new equine partnership, this programme provides a basic grounding in all the things you need to know and do. We will assess you and your horse, make up a training plan for you, including lessons, homework and goal‑setting and help you to resolve the conflict between non-affiliated and affiliated dressage!

This program is designed to help riders find their confidence again and learn to enjoy the fabulous sport of dressage in a friendly, professional environment.

 Aderro Intensive Training Courses:

Rhegan teaching Vicky Meek on Rocko

This is a great opportunity to meet other riders in your group (5 maximum), while learning a new and better way to train your horse and improve your own riding. Lots of new friends are made in our Intensive Training Courses – it has been affectionately called 'Pony Club Camp for mothers and aunties'!

We include lots of theory, goal setting, test riding and common sense solutions to all manner of problems from impulsion to feeding regimes!

You will stay in our comfortable farmhouse cottage, be given 3 home-made meals a day and lots of wine to ease those aches and pains.

This is an all-inclusive package which takes all the stresses of daily living out and helps you to focus on your riding and remind you how to have fun doing it!

Here is the program:

  • Day 1: Arrive by 11:30 AM, settle your horse into the Aderro Barn (15x15 loose box with windows, fluffy shavings, tasty haylage, comfy rubber mats, automatic water feeders and flat screen TVs! (not quite….) Check into your own comfortable room in the cottage or main house and join us for a light lunch in the Viewing Gallery and meet the rest of your group. A brief orientation and welcome chat with Rhegan will set you up for the afternoon. In your lesson we will focus on the goal you would most like to achieve (i.e. on the bit, more off the leg, prepare for a championship…all of the above!) and make a plan to help you realise your goal. In the evening, join Rhegan for drinks and dinner at the big house. After dinner, view the Conrad Schumacher/Aderro Productions DVD “Prepare to Win: Conrad Schumacher’s Dressage Training System.”
  • Day 2: Breakfast in the cottage with your group then off for your morning lesson. Your horses will be cared for so you can relax! We encourage you to watch your group’s lessons – lots to be learned – and cheer them on as you see them improve. Lunch in the gallery, then afternoon lessons with a strong helping of test-riding skills. Evening – we will take you to a local pub for a dinner amongst yourselves.
  • Day 3: Breakfast in the cottage with your group then down to the yard to prepare for the some Test riding. Your lesson today will include learning a warm-up routine then riding a test of your choice. Bring your video camera and have it filmed so you can see what the improvement you have made over the 3 days! Light lunch in the gallery and fond farewells.
